We Lost

The right to marry between gay and lesbian couples has been overturned.  I am ashamed of the people of Maine today, and am so sorry for our friends and family that this will hurt.  It is a sad day for all of us when happiness is denied. I wanted my girls to live in a better world, where everyone has the same rights. Crap.

So sorry to hear about the results of the vote. One day, things will change.

Here in Canada, it's a done deal. During the whole debate on gay marriage a few years ago, I was driving in the car with my boys who were probably about 9 and 11 at the time. The nine year-old piped up and asked what all the fuss was about. For him, if you want to get married, you should just do it.

Keep up the good fight!

I saw this news before I saw your prior post. Very sad for Maine.

What is WRONG with people? I still believe that reason and compassion and kindness will prevail. This is simply a short-term setback. My hope is that by the time our kids are adults, they will not remember a time when it was illegal for certain people to get married.

OH man:( That makes me so sad. I too, want our kids to grow up in a better world. I hope and pray that one day these things will be the norm. I love how your friend said her 9-10 yr old just thought it was how it was supposed to be. From his lips....
take care~Lisa
